In celebration of Black History Month, the New England Aquarium Lecture Series welcomes Dr. Tiara Moore, an environmental ecologist and the Founder and CEO of Black in Marine Science (BIMS). Dr. Moore will discuss how BIMS aims to celebrate Black marine scientists, spread environmental awareness, and inspire the next generation of scientific thought leaders. For the past three years, the organization has worked to remove barriers to entry and retention in marine science while also celebrating Black marine scientists currently in the field. The BIMS team is now building the BIMS Institute, a research, communication, and innovation powerhouse that is sure to change the face and culture of marine science worldwide.
